From mid-August to the beginning of December I will be studying abroad in the lovely town of Riva San Vitale on Lake Lugano, Switzerland. My classmates and I will study architecture and design in a place where we can see firsthand the famous work we've been learning about for the past 3 years. We will be immersed in a new culture - studying Italian (the language of southern Switzerland), exploring cities that thrived hundreds (or thousands!) of years before the Europeans first settled in North America, and learning to inconspicuously observe and learn from everything around us. I've never written a blog before, and I'll do my best to keep up with it.

Update: I'm back home now, and did a TERRIBLE job of updating this while I was abroad. Now that I have some (too much) free time, I'm going to try to catch up on my posts.
